I actually stumbled across this book in an unusual way. I met the author before I had the book. It is a good colorful and descriptive story. I am not an avid reader but could not put the book down. Learned a little about sailing and also about working in the casinoes. The author has done both so the information is true and correct. This is a book that needs to be read over and over again lessons of life, romance, adventure and love of the sea.
Very well written! The author uses the character of Jean Claude to gift readers with wisdom and character. Definitely a must read!
Not as interesting as I would like.
This book is beautifully written and teaches about the wisdom of lessons learned from embracing life on the sea. What constitutes good writing? This author is not only entertaining and insightful, but he takes you to a place you've never been before. This is a must read filled with adventure, romance, and passion for sailing. I did not want to put this book down until each chapter was closed, and each character more fully understood. The author teaches that happiness is not in our circumstances, but in ourselves. Happiness is something we are.
Loved this book.. A wonderful afternoon read, because I couldn't put it down..lol.. I immediately got taken by jean Paul's kind yet powerful soul that seemed to resonate through out the whole book.. My favorite lines are " I knew I had an amazing propensity for avoiding confrontation with women I cared about .. Now I knew I was afraid of being rejected or worse accepted and falling in love" . and " Feel the pain ; let it pass through and get on with your life". The raw truth of it spoke to me. And the sense of humor was delightful. For sure a book to add to your collection.
Red Roses, Lady Blue has very vivid imagery--felt as if I were there. I read it straight through, which is quite unusual for me. Loved the way the characters and their relationships came to life through their actions and words. Great seeing an author write from experience rather than hum-drum research for it always shows. Robert Scott seems to be quite romantic and has a unique philosophy on life. It's definitely a "keeper." Will there be a sequel?
